Fingernail separates from skin: ouch!?

this is really weird. it's not super frequent but i'd articulate once in 6 months or so, i'll do some simple point and then ouch! my fingernail will separate from the skin underneath! in recent times a tiny area but it stings similar to hell! so weird. i don't know why it does that and i don't know of anyone else who have this problem/experience. anyone know anything about this condition and how to prevent it?

Its called onycholysis.

Think of- 1. Calcium defect & 2. Fungal infection. Consulting a derm.ist may help you.
Its similar to a fungus. I would use the green Burt's Bees!
This has happen to me many times over the years and it's so tight...especially if you forgot it's there and food get in...ouch!
Make sure it's verbs and apply an anti-bacterial/pain relief cream (make sure it's the combo ointment within the band-aid aisle at the drugstore). Usually it's better the next year if you apply it at night and tolerate it air dry. Use a band-aid to cover if exposed during the morning.
