Family Physician or Eye Doctor?

My son's (he's 14 yrs old) had glow around his eyes with a bit of that crusty stuff contained by his eye lashes. It's not painfull but does irritate him. He's had this for a few days presently - I thought it might clear up on it's own - but it's not. Should I take him to the eye doctor or to our nearest and dearest physician?Family Physician or Eye Doctor?
try the family Doctor first
this may be a skin condition approaching impetigo, esp. if the crusting is golden in color. I would reason a dermatologist would nail it.
